A homage to Leonard Bernstein's Music

On 25 August Taormina Arte and his artistic director Enrico Castiglione homages Leonard Bernstein in his 90's birthday. A concert dedicates to his wonderful music from West Side Story, Candide, On the Town. The Orchestra is the one from the Theatre in Messina and the soprano is Marquita Lister.Leonard Bernstein ([August 25, 1918 – October 14, 1990) was an American conductor, composer, author, music lecturer and pianist. Summer Exibitions

Three Summer Exibitions open on 1st August in Taormina A View from the Set (Chiesa del Carmine); Master of the Captured Images (Chiesa di San Francesco di Paola) and Opera Costumes (Palazzo Corvaja). The exibitions will be opened till 28Th September every day from 10.30 to 12.30 (a.m) and from 5.30 to 9.30 (p.m.). Closed on Monday. Ticket € 2.50 for each exibition € 4.50 for the three. [more]

Enrico Castiglione presents the programme of Music-Dance

Competition Arturo Toscanini - Giuseppe Sinopoli Award

After eleven years the international conduction competition titled to "Arturo Toscanini" comes back. Since this year the competion is in collaboration with the Festival dedicated to Giuseppe Sinopoli and organized by Taormina Arte. "Arturo Toscanini - Giuseppe Sinopoli Award " is an international competition for orchestra directors which takes place in Taormina on October 24 and 25.The jury is cpresided by a very famous conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner.
