A Skype connection will reach overseas Italian director Gabriele Muccino who will speak for the first time about his new film “Playing in the Field” in the frame of 58th TaorminaFilmFest. The film tells the story of a professional football player, played by Gerard Butler (“The naked truth”) who becomes the coach of his son’s team in order to spend more time with him but the other little players’ mothers will identify him as the subject of their sexual appetites. British and visionary director Terry Gilliam is one of the most awaited guests of the festival: he will be the protagonist of Tao Class meeting “L’immaginario del Dr Gilliam” and will be awarded the CuboVision prize. During the meeting – curated by Mario Sesti – it will be possible to retrace Gilliam’s artistic path thanks to extraordinary images, from the vitriolic comedy of Monty Phyton to his own cinematography made up of an inexhaustible, figurative and polymorphous creativity. In the section of special programmes, sport will be again a protagonist of TaorminaFilmFest with the film “Ti vitti – I saw you” (directed by Georges Salameh), a narration of the World Fencing Championships which took place in Catania in 2011, the last appointment before the London Olympic Games of 2012. In the section “Pre – visioni: lavori in corso” Italian director Fausto Brizzi and Italian actress Giorgia Wurth will speak about their new film for the first time. In the section “Tutti i colori della commedia” there will be the projection of the film “La suerte en tus manos” (“All in”) whereas in the section “Focus Russia” there will be the projection of the film “Cargo 220” directed by Alexey Balabanov. In the evening, the Teatro Antico will host another great preview, “The first time”. Director Jon Kasdan and actors Dylan O’Brian and Brittany Robertson will be present at the theatre. Waiting for the projection of the film, hundreds of fans have arranged to meet at the theatre through a tam tam on Facebook and on other social networks.
