TAORMINA ARTE 2010: MUSIC & DANCE

(19/05/10) The new appointment with Taormina Arte Summer Music & Dance is announced. Also in 2010 the artistic director Enrico Castiglione has planned a world-class program. On 6 and 8 August TURANDOT by Giacomo Puccini, directed by Enrico Castiglione, scenes, costumes by Sonia Cammarata, back on stage at the Greek Theatre the soprano Clara Taigi and the conductor Fabio Mastrangelo. Seven evenings of dance opens July 22 with THE ROYAL BALLET GALA ; on 11 and 12 August Petr Ilyich Tchaikovsky SWAN LAKE with the Russian Ballet; on 16 and 17 August Aran Khachaturian SPARTACUS with The National Academic Bolshoi; an evening dedicated to flamenco on August 18 PASION Flamenco! with Compania Espanola de Baile Flamenco and Argentinean tango on August 21 MILONGA DE MI AMOR! with Compania Astor Piazzolla;

SILVER RIBBONS 2010 JUNE 19 AT THE GREEK THEATRE

(19/05/10) This year Taormina hosts the awarding of the Silver Ribbons, one of the most important manifestations of national cinema scene. The Silver Ribbons are awarded by the National Syndicate of Italian Film Journalists, chaired by Laura Delli Colli. The announcement of the winners will be preceded at Rome on May 27, by the nominations for which were taken into consideration all the films released by April 30, 2010.

TAORMINA FILMFEST 2010: THE PROTAGONIST ROBERT DE NIRO

(19/05/10) Great expectations for the 2010 edition of the Taormina Film Fest for the fourth consecutive year, directed by Deborah Young. This year the categories are: Mediterranean - a selection of seven films produced in the Mediterranean region that will participate in the contest of the Golden Tauro for the Best Film, which will be selected by the official jury. Beyond the Mediterranean -A selection of seven films made in countries outside the Mediterranean that will compete for the Audience Award. The Great Cinema at the Greek Theatre - Every evening a spectacular new movie or event will be presented to the general public.

TAORMINA ARTE 2010 AT THE BIT IN MILAN

(04/02/10) The seasons of Taormina Arte 2010 will be presented during the Milan BIT to be held February 18 to 21. Scheduled for Section Music & Dance, directed successfully for the fourth consecutive year by artistic director Enrico Castiglione , the new production of Turandot by Giacomo Puccini, directed and scenes Enrico Castiglione and new costumes by Sonia Cammarata (three nights in early August). The 2010 program of Section Music & Dance will feature again in the splendid Greek Theatre etoiles of the international dance and familiar faces of classical music and opera.
