La Spartenza is the autobiographical novel of Tommaso Bordonaro’s life, a farmer that lived in Bolognetta (Palermo) during the first half of 20th century, who emigrated to the USA in 1947. For the staging, an Enzo Toto ‘s project, has been used, apart from La Spartenza, some other unpublished material kept by Santo Lombino (the researcher who contributed to the spreading of Bordonaro’s work): childhood memories, the home movies in super 8 shooted by Bordonaro in Italy and USA and a video interview made by Lombino in 1995. the show opens with a reunion around the fire for Tommaso, but he is not there. He left leaving his memories in six diaries to six godchildren, each of who came, in some sense, into possession of a part of Tommaso’s past. This characters come from different periods and places of his long and varied life and meet themselves to build a truth, putting together the whole diary.
