By Prèvert, mon ami, Mario Cei follows his way through the French songs, started in 2003 with Boum! Je chante Trenet.
Accompanied by Alessandro Sironi at the piano, Mario Cei restores the polyhedral portrait of Prèvert, poet, script-writer, playwright; artist who’s his thirtieth death’s anniversary this year. Through words and famous or less famous lyrics, well-known songs with the music by Joseph Kosma, Henry Crolla and Christiane Verger, from Paris at night to Barbara, from Les enfants qui s’aiment to Les feuilles mortes, from Dejeuner du matin to This Love; through images, collages and famous films, we find legendary singers as Edith Piaf, Juliette Grèco, Yves Montand; important actors as Jean Cabin, Arietty, Jean-Louis Barrault; or simply and anonymous people met by Prèvert, on the benches, in the bistro, during his long night walk.
