ENRICO CASTIGLIONE
Enrico Castiglione, was born in Rome from Sicilian parents, is a director, producer, promoter and author of festivals, artistic director of international festivals and opera and concert seasons, stage-manager of television programmes in the main television networks of the world..
He is considered by the international music critics one of the most famous directors of musical theatre of his generation, with more than one hundred DVD dstributed all over the world. He started his career as a music critic and wrote for a lot of magazines and newspapers. Among the most important works, as a costume designer, stage designer, set designer and director, there were in 1999 The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, in 2000 Tosca by Puccini and in 2001 Don Giovanni by Mozart. He is the artistic director of the Eastern Festival in Rome and was the artistic director of the concerts during the last Rome Jubilee. He founded and is the President of the National Italian Jazz Orchestra and is the artistic director of the International Lyrical Competition “Montserrat Caballè” in Spain. In his carreer he worked with really famous artists as Lorin Maazel, Katia Ricciarelli, Montserrat Caballe, Josè Carreras, Cecilia Gasdia. He is the new Artistic Director of Taormina Arte Music and Dance.
